Subject: Hurricane Dorian Update #4
Hurricane Dorian is expected to begin affecting the South Carolina coast today with heavy rains. Conditions are expected to begin deteriorating late Wednesday and storm surges between 4 and 7 feet are possible. With storm surge inundation and heavy rainfall, the risk for flash flooding is significant. We encourage all Palmetto Dunes associates to abide by Governor McMaster’s evacuation orders and relocate yourselves and your families away from the area.
Palmetto Dunes Resort remains closed for business. With minimal damage, the resort will re-open on Saturday, September 7th. Your management team will reassess should the island and the resort sustain more significant damage. We will continue with our daily conference calls and weather-related announcements, island re-entry, and resort opening details will be available on this webpage. You can also access this information at our emergency hotline by calling 1-800-315-2371.
Please check back daily for updates.
If you still have questions, please contact your supervisor. The Greenwood office will remain open throughout the storm and associates may reach us at 864-941-4044.
The safety of you and your family remain our primary concern. We urge you to heed any guidance from local, state, and federal officials.
Be safe and God Bless.
