The Palmetto Dunes Resort Hole-in-One Challenge Gives Two Donation Checks to Local Charities!
For the past 5 years, Greenwood Communities and Resorts has been offering the Hole-in-One Challenge to guests that play Palmetto Dunes golf courses. The challenge costs each guest $10 to participate and if they hit a hole-in-one on the designated hole, they will receive a $2,500 resort gift card. A portion of the proceeds from the charity challenge go to local charities.
In October 2010, Bill Matthess (Starter/Ranger on the Robert Trent Jones course and coordinator of the charity challenge) delivered two donation checks. One check went to the Hilton Head Humane Society (pictured above in center from left: Franny Gerthoffer, Director of Hilton Head Humane Society, Bill Matthess, and Jenny Brasington, Director of Hospice Care of the Lowcountry) and the other went to Hospice of the Lowcountry. Bill, along with several other employees work hard on the challenge and this allows us to donate approximately $10,000 per year to local charities.
