|Palmetto Dunes Resort EMERGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT:
October 11, 2016
Mayor David Bennett announced late Monday that Hilton Head Island will open for re-entry beginning at 3:00 pm today. Before returning to the island, however, please check with your local neighborhood or POA to ensure it is safe for you to return, as some POAs are still restricting access to their respective neighborhoods citing safety issues. It is important to note that electricity, water, sewer, and cellular service are still limited in many areas on the island. Food, fuel and other and basic supplies are also limited. A boil water advisory remains in effect for the entire island. Traffic will be extremely heavy during re-entry.
I have continued to meet with our management team over the last few days and our personnel on resort continue to provide updates on the condition of Palmetto Dunes. Our buildings still appear to be in good shape with some tree damage to Center Court. The Dunes House did suffer minor roof damage. The majority of damage appears to be to our golf courses. Several areas within the resort remain impassable as crews continue working to clear downed trees and debris.
Over the next few days’ managers will begin returning to the resort to assess needs in their respective departments and will begin making decisions on when to resume normal operations. Your managers will communicate with you plans for reopening and work schedules.
Our payroll department continues to process payroll through Sunday, October 9th. All employees who were scheduled to work Wednesday, October 5th through Sunday, October 9th will receive their regular pay for those scheduled hours.
As we move forward and begin to plan for re-opening our resort. I want to thank you for your patience. Our goal is to return to normal operations as soon as possible but safety will remain our number one priority during this process.
We will continue to update http://www.Greenwoodcr.com and Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort Facebook page with any new information that becomes available to us. Our emergency hotline remains active. Associates may call 864-942-3925 for the most up-to-date information.
