Severe Weather Information
Update 9-5-08- Businesses Urged to close early
Emergency management officials are encouraging businesses to consider closing early today to allow employees to get home ahead of the storm and winds. Based on current storm forecasts, Beaufort County Government offices will be closed at 3 p.m. due to high wind forecasts.
Winds from Tropical Storm Hanna may reach 50-60 miles per hour this afternoon, continuing into the late evening hours with peak winds potentially between 5 and 6 p.m. with continuing winds until late evening.
Emergency Management officials will continue to monitor Tropical Storm Hanna closely and the chamber will continue to send updates to our members regarding tropical storm Hanna as well as any future storm threats to our region.
Update 9-4-08- School Closings
Beaufort County Schools will be closed on Friday due to the proximity of Tropical Storm Hanna and its anticipated impact on the local area.
